Safe Mode is an effective tool for locating and troubleshooting Windows systems. It works by starting the computer without loading third-party device drivers, making the computer run in a minimal system mode so that you can easily detect and fix computer system errors.
*In safe mode, third-party device drivers are not loaded, so functions such as fingerprint, Bluetooth, network, etc. are not available.
Start Safe Mode:
Method one:
1. Press and hold or tap the F8 button while powering on. Or when the computer is running, after saving your file data, click the Windows icon > Power icon, hold down the Shift key, select Restart, and the computer will restart directly.
2. On the Choose an option interface that pops up, click Troubleshoot, and then click Advanced Options > View More Recovery Options > Startup Settings > Restart, or click Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
3. Press the number key 4 or the function key F4 in the startup settings, select Enable Safe Mode, and the computer enters Safe Mode.
Method two:
If you have set an account password, you need to enter the account password when restarting the computer to enter the safe mode using this method. Forgetting the account password may prevent you from exiting the safe mode.
1. Enter System Configuration in the search box and open it.
2. Select the Boot tab, check Safe Boot in the Boot Options, and click OK.
3. In the pop-up system configuration window, click Restart to enter Safe Mode. If you still have documents to save, you can click Exit without restart, and then restart your computer to enter Safe Mode after finishing the work.
Exit safe mode:
1. This is for method two to exit safe mode. If you enter the safe mode based on method 1, simply restart the computer to exit the safe mode.
2. If the keyboard does not respond after turning on the safe mode, press the Win + R key combination at the same time, enter "MSConfig" in the run box and press Enter to enter the "System Configuration".
Type System Configuration in the taskbar search box and open.
Under the General tab, tick Normal startup under the Startup selection column, and click OK. Exit Safe Mode after restarting your computer.
