realme Fan Festival 2021 brings together its global fan community to celebrate the power of youth, as realme hits sales milestones of over $330 million during the festival

New Delhi, August 31, 2021 - realme, the world fastest growing smartphone brand, brought in over $330 million in sales during its much-anticipated realme Fan Festival 2021, achieving 38% Y-o-Y growth. realme sold 1.6 Million units of smartphones and 2,25,000 units AIoT devices during global Fan Festival 2021.

During the festival, realme received a tremendous response from the Indian consumers and achieved gross merchandise value (GMV) of INR 667 Crores during the realme Fan Festival 2021. In India, realme was able to sell 370K smartphones and 168K AIoT devices in 5 days, accounting for a 166.7% increase in total AIOT sales volume compared to 2020.

This sales record during the Fan Festival 2021 came on the back of another milestone, as realme celebrates 100 million smartphones sold. realme was also the fastest major smartphone company to cross this milestone, achieving it just three years after its inception. To thank the fans and its supporters, realme held its Fan Festival virtually, dedicated to the many passionate fans who are passionate about the brand and its products. 

realme has shown that the power of youth and the focus on young audiences worldwide is a sustainable and correct strategy. In addition to being the fastest major smartphone company to cross 100 million units sold, realme is also the fastest-growing major smartphone brand globally in Q2 2021 with a year-over-year growth rate of 149%, as data from research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) showed. Currently, realme ranks in the Top 5 smartphone makers in 18 markets, claiming first place in the Philippines and Bangladesh, fourth in India and Russia and fifth in the Europe region in Q2 2021.

realme is focused on creating a 'TechLife'' ecosystem with its newly announced ‘1+5+T strategy’ which has led realme to enter into the laptop segment with its realme Book (Slim). realme’s laptop stands out for its 2K display, slim & light metallic body and improved audio experience with Harman speakers and is a disruptor in its category. The first-ever sales day for realme Book (Slim) was a great success and close to laptop 3000 units were sold out in less than 10 mins, which is the fastest ever in a BAU day, which is a regular sales day,  where brands offer huge discounts or offer and is not related to any sales event. The sales also marked a big achievement in the laptop category as the customer response was quite enthusiastic and exceeded realme’s expectations. realme India is now focused on ramping up supply to meet the burgeoning demand. The next Sale Day for realme Book (Slim) is scheduled to go live on 9th September, across both online and offline channels. 

In conjunction with the Fan Festival, realme organized a campaign called the ‘Daring Heroes Wild Poster Event’ where realme received photo submissions from fans and showcased them in key urban centers of London, Moscow, Madrid and Shenzhen, to showcase the realme spirit, aptly titled: ‘How Dare You Be You’. The campaign is a celebration of the restless spirit of those who dare to live their own truths despite the judgments and obstacles they may face. With this powerful statement, realme aims to empower fans to turn negative external noise into positive empowerment.
