Phone only shows charging option when connected to computer

Causes:

1. The data cable only supports charging, not data transfer.

2. USB port is banned. Some companies will ban USB ports to ensure data security. 

3. USB debugging is not turned on, and USB configuration settings are incorrect.

4. Abnormal USB driver.

5. The USB service policy is turned off.


Solutions:

1. Some data cables only support charging, not data transfer. Please replace the cable to try.

2. It is recommended that you change the computer to use.

3. Open USB debugging and select USB configuration.

    Settings > About device Version > build number, click 7 times in a row. Then re-enteSettings > System Settings > Developer Optionsturn on USB debugging.

    Find the Default USB configuration and select File transfer/Android Auto.

    Go to Select USB Configuration and choose the appropriate USB connection method.

    Transfer photos: Transfer photos between the phone and the computer via PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol).

    Transfer files: Transfer files between the phone and the computer via the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) protocol.

    MIDI: Use your phone as a MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) input device to play music on your computer.

4. USB driver abnormality.

    (1) Maybe the driver is not updated, please right-click "This PC", and click "Manage".

    (2) After entering the page, first click "Device Manager", then click "Universal Serial Bus Controller" on the right.

    (3) Right-click on the USB driver and select "Update Driver", after the update is complete, then confirm that the problem is resolved.

5. The USB service policy is turned off.

    (1) Right-click on "This PC" and then click on "Properties".

    (2) Click "Device Manager".

    (3) Click to expand "Universal Serial Bus Controller", select "Generic USB Hub" and right click to enter the properties window.

    (4) Click on the Power Management option, remove the tick in front of "Allow the computer to shut down this device to save power" and click OK.

    (5) Then modify the other "Generic USB Hub".

    (6) Finally, unplug the USB cable, restart the computer, and plug it in again.


If none of the above methods can solve your problem, please back up your device and bring your purchase certificate to the nearest realme service center for testing and processing.
