Learn how to set a passcode on your phone to help protect your data.
Applicable for ColorOS 5.2 Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About phone].
Encyrption of apps is recommended to protect your data and privacy and to prevent other people from checking contents of some of your apps.
Enable App Lock.
Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [App Lock] then enter the Passcode and security question that you would like to use, choose apps you want to lock, then toggle [Start Passcode Verification] to lock the app.
You will know that an application is locked when there's a padlock symbol on the app.
Click [Other Encryptions]. You can choose from two types of passcodes:
•Click Pattern Code and draw a pattern with at least four dots connected.
•Click 4-16 Digit Alphanumeric Code and set a passcode that contains four to sixteen numbers and/or letters as your preference.
App Encryption Setting.
While inside the App lock, Click on the top right portion of the screen. Then you'll be given the following settings:
Change Verification Passcode. If you want to create a new passcode.
Modify the Security Question. The security question can help you reset the passcode when you forget it.
Change Access Number. When app icons are hidden in homescreen, you can view them by entering the access number on the dialpad.
You can also enable the following:
Use fingerprint for app encryption if your phone supports it.
Skip authentication for short exits which doesn't require passcode verification for the next screen lock.
Further App Protection.
Once you enabled the start passcode verification for each app, it can be further hidden fro more protection by enabling the following: (Just click the app for this setting to show)
HIde Homescreen Icon. This app can only be viewed by entering the access number on the dialpad. An app is hidden if you see this icon on the app.
Don't display in recent task. This can be cleaned in the background.
Don't display notifications. No notification will show or prompt on your screen.
