Learn how to maximize battery life on your realme smartphone.
Applicable for all realme smartphone.
The realme smartphones use Lithium-ion battery. Lithium-ion battery provides lightweight, high energy density power sources for devices. It also has good plasticity and it is the safest one. We use Lithium-ion battery to ensure the good performance of realme smartphone.
"Battery life" is the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged. "Battery lifespan" is the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced. Maximize both and you'll get the most out of your realme smartphone.
Extend battery lifespan.
Lithium-ion battery is a smart battery which might not be fully charged or its maximum lifespan cannot be reached with an unoriginal charger. (Including Power adapter and USB Cable).
Use realme original accessories.
The realme smartphone battery is designed to have a good performance in a wide range of ambient temperatures, with 16° C to 25° C (61° F to 77° F)as the ideal comfort zone. Avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures higher than 35° C (95° F) which may lead to battery degradation, whereas at lower temperatures the internal resistance of the battery may increase, resulting in slower charging and thus longer charging times. When using your device in a very cold environment, you may notice a decrease in battery life, but this condition is temporary. Once the battery's temperature returns to its normal operating range, its performance will return to normal as well.
Use at a suitable temperature.
*To avoid battery damage, realme smartphone will automatically stop charging or using at extreme ambient temperatures, and alerts you "Temperature is too low/high, the battery cannot be charged", "Temperature is too low/high, the battery cannot be fully charged".
Do not fully discharge your phone's battery.
Charge your phone when your battery level goes down to 10%. If phone's battery is fully discharged, the battery could fall into a deep discharge state, which will cause it to be slightly damaged.
Store it half-charged when you store it long term.
If you want to store your device long term, two key factors will affect the overall health of your battery: The environmental temperature and the percentage of charge on the battery when it's powered down for storage. Therefore, we recommend the following:
•Do not fully charge or fully discharge your device's battery - charge it to around 50%. If you store a device when its battery is fully discharged, the battery could fall into a deep discharge state, which renders it incapable of holding a charge. Conversely, if you store it fully charged for an extended period of time, the battery may lose some capacity, leading to shorter battery life.
•Power down the device to avoid additional battery use.
•Place your device in a cool, moisture-free environment that's less than 32° C(90° F).
•If you plan to store your device for longer than six months, charge it to 50% every month.
Tips to extend your battery life
1. Update the system
2. Always make sure your device is using the latest version of ColorOS.
3. Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] to see if you need an update.
If an update is available, update your phone system to latest system version.
Optimize system settings
There are two simple ways you can preserve battery life - no matter how you use your device: adjust your screen brightness and use Wi-Fi.
1. Dim the screen or turn on Auto-Brightness to extend battery life.
•To dim, swipe up from the bottom of any screen to open Control Center and drag the Brightness slider to the left.
•Auto-Brightness adjusts your screen to lighting conditions automatically. To activate it, open Control Center, then click Image or go to [Settings] > [Display & Brightness], then turn on Auto-Brightness.
2.When you use your device to access data, a Wi-Fi connection uses less power than a cellular network - so keep Wi-Fi on at all times. There are two ways to turn on Wi-Fi:
•Swipe up to open Control Center, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and log in to a Wi-Fi network.
•Go to [Settings] > [Wi-Fi] to access a Wi-Fi network.
Turn off GPS, and when not in used.
Go to [Settings] > [Accounts and Sync] and turn off Auto-sync Data. This will stop apps to synchronize with Google server or other servers automatically.
Click Menu button, then click Image to close all background apps.
Turn Low Power Mode on
Low Power Mode is an easy way to extend the battery life when it starts to get low. Your phone lets you know when your battery level goes down to 20%, and again at 10%, and lets you turn on Low Power Modewith one tap or you can enable it by going to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Low Power Mode]. Low Power Mode reduces display brightness, optimizes device performance, and minimizes system animations and personal hotspots will be turned off automatically but you can still turn them on manually. You can still use key functions like making and receiving phone calls, email, and messages. When your phone charges up again, Low Power Mode automatically switches off.
View Battery Usage information
1. With ColorOS, you can easily manage your device's battery life, because you can see the proportion of your battery used by each app (unless the device is charging). To view your usage, go to [Settings] >[ Battery].
2. To improve battery life, you can disable apps to refresh in the background. Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Energy Saver], select one app and you can find [Background Freeze], [Abnormal Apps Optimization] & [Doze], switch them on when you need.
•[Background Freeze]: Suspend apps running in the background.
•[Abnormal APPs Optimization]: Stop apps that are not working properly in the background.
•[Doze]: After the screen is locked, network connections and data synchronization of apps will be suspended.
Turn on Airplane Mode
1. When there is no cell coverage or low signal, this indicates that you are in a poor cell coverage area and your device is searching for a better signal, which will affect your battery life.
2. You can optimize your battery life by turn on Airplane Mode.
3. Open Control Center, then click Image , or go to [Settings] > then follow the desired options.
